KIA NOVO Overview
At the Seoul Motor Show, Kia unveiled the concept car Novo, as design features a sporty exterior and basic inside. Kia Novo, in name and in fact, is born as an expression of the future development of the design and anticipates the style of compact cars of the future generation. Specifically, the Kia Novo anticipates the evolution of models of compact class of great series.
It ‘was designed in Korea at the design center Kia Namyang starting from the platform, as amended, and the Cerato is a mix between the style and setting of a sports brand. The reduced front overhang and the rear most prominent, coupled with the sleek profile of the roof and the width of the glass surface, give it personality. The precise setting of the profile is combined with clean lines and volumes that define the body. The front offers a further evolution of the typical grill nose tiger, now wider and deeper, and unpublished laser headlights. The lower air intakes accommodate additional headlights. The front wings are connected with the belt line to the rear lights which reproduce a glance like the front. In the queue the raised lines and discharges triangular section accentuate the feeling of width and of adherence to the ground while the edges which underline the perimeter defining the aerodynamic function by improving the resistance coefficient. The surfaces and sharp edges give the profile a look defined and modern identified strong lines of the doors, the sills and the air vents in aluminum. The rear-hinged doors characterize the sideline with recessed handles in line with the mirrors in aluminum.
Passenger compartment. The attention is prevalent for the pilot and the setting minimalist eliminates possibility of driver distraction, while the other passengers enjoy space thanks to the length of the interior and interior architecture. the bridge is oriented towards the driver’s seat and embellished by the use of leather, stitching and special aluminum inserts. The instrumentation two elements offers all the information through a 3D holographic display, while a trackpad behind the steering wheel allows you to control all functions without taking your eyes off the road. The same trackpad incorporates the scanner fingerprint recognition with which to access all the multimedia personalization of the car, from the musical choices to the displays in the dashboard. The display in the center instead allows all occupants to intervene on board functions. No couch on board, but four individual seats upholstered in brown leather wrap and emphasize the essential environment.
The engine of the 1600 series Kappa is a gasoline direct injection, turbocharged (T-GDI) and is combined with the dual clutch seven-speed DCT that transmits motion to the front wheels.
Another innovation are the tires “Adaptive Concave Profile”. With their tread central concavity, these tires optimize the support of two areas separated by a channel useful to the cooling of the rubber at high speed and improving wet grip.
